Sravanthy Anand
I always believed in building a career and way of living which I am passionate and inclined towards . Today I am truly grateful to build myself one . With a very humble beginning in 2009 , when I started my business with just 2 people . The business that I started to pursue my passion soon became my goal and motto in life to provide employment to as many people as I can and specially to contribute my bit towards women empowerment
Today I successfully run a business with a team of 30 people , major number being women and the rest being skilled artisans . I revived many arts that were dying . My main aim was to bridge the gap between the artisans located in remote areas and bring them one step closer to their dreams and helping them in arranging a sustainable livelihood and customers who value authenticity and originality in the art .
Today when we speak about poverty and environmental pollution I always want to empower myself and people around considering those view points . In a age where fast fashion is a trend , it’s challenging to educate people to move towards slow fashion .
I believe my biggest strength here is to culminate the latest trend and designs using hand looms and hand embroidery. I feel content at the end of the day to grow a brand which is sustainable and conscious and also challenges my creativity. Also it makes me feel very proud to be covered in news papers like The Hindu and magazines like India Today several times in several aspects . I always want my story to be heard as a message and I am here to convey that following a sustainable lifestyle, using most of our local resources is good for you and the planet .
